Schools go on strike next Wednesday
The teachers, staff and personnel of both the Eastern Townships School Board (ETSB) and the Commission Scolaire des Sommets (CSS) will be going on strike next Wednesday, October 28th.
The ETSB issued the following statement on Tuesday: “The Eastern Townships School Board (ETSB) wishes to inform all its students and parents that its teachers, professionals and support staff are in a legal strike position on October 28th 2015, thereby forcing the cancellation of all classes in the youth, adult education and vocational training sectors of all ETSB schools and centres. This cancellation will also affect daycare services, which will be closed as well. As there may be other disruptions to classes in the coming weeks, we ask that parents and
students remain diligent in reading all communiqués from their school/centre and check the school board website at www.etsb.qc.ca.”
All classes and services will be suspended in all of the Commission Scolaire des Sommets schools (Jardin-des-Frontieres), including the Passe-Partout and daycare programs. The CSS administrative centre will also be closed.
The teachers and personnel have voted to hold six strike days.
