AIR Featured Artists Brighten Gray November!

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS BRIEFS -

The Artist in Residence (AIR), a cooperative gallery, is delighted to brighten the gray month of November with the fine art of Harald Aksdal and Debra Kiel. The public is invited to a reception at the gallery (Main Street, Enosburg Falls) on Sunday, November 1, 2015, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. The artists will share and discuss their recent work. In addition, sap buckets painted by various artist members will continue to be displayed and sold as a fundraiser for the gallery. Refreshments will be served. We hope 14th Star Brewery will join us once again as well.

Harald Aksdal is a talented draftsman who turned his attention to fine arts in the past decade. The winner of two “Best Still Life in Show People’s Choice” awards in Watercolor magazine, Harald has been juried into Vermont exhibits at The Shelburne Coach Barn, Manchester’s Southern Vermont Arts Center, Waitsfield’s Red Barn Gallery, the Helen Day Art Center in Stowe, Emille Gruppe Gallery in Jericho, and many, many more, as well as several in the Adirondacks at Old Forge, NY. He participated (by invitation) in the Louisiana Watercolor Society’s 41st International Exhibit, and of course, the Artist in Residence gallery has been honored to show his work for many years. He recently illustrated his first children’s book.

Best know for his amazing, realistic pen and ink renderings, Aksdal has ventured into working with watercolors in recent years. His initial work focused on details, respecting each individual line,
