Local artist Louisette Gauthier-Mitchell is one of ten Eastern Townships artists being featured in the exhibition La Variation est la norme, a joint presentation between the Galerie d’art culturel de l’Université de Sherbrooke and the Maison de la culture Frontenac where the event is taking place from October 21st to November 29th.

The title of the exhibit was inspired by the research of paleontologist and author Stephen Jay Gould who believed it was impossible to interpret the evolution of a phenomenon without taking into account the range of its variations. In his work, the author has invited his readers to renounce the traditional idea of domination and learn to love peculiarities and appreciate diversity. The artists in the exhibition, who also include singer Richard Seguin, are known for their authentic research, singularity, intelligence and the varied way in which they construct their work.

The Maison de la culture Frontenac is located on Ontario Street East, in Montreal.
