Phelps Aide Phelps Helps holds Open House Thursday
PhelpsAide Phelps Helps, which is the official name of the after school tutoring program for high school students offered at 10 Phelps Street, in Stanstead, has lots of room for more students from Alexander Galt High School to join! Especially with report cards around the corner, coordinator Katie Lowry hopes that more students will sign up soon.
Phelps Aide Phelps Helps is holding an Open House on Thursday, November 5th, from 5:30 to 6:00 pm., just after the regular tutoring session from 4:30 to 5:30. Parents and students are encouraged to come in and meet the tutoring team as well as discuss upcoming report cards.
Parents of the students participating in the Sunnyside program can also come by if they wish!
The successful Phelps Aide Phelps Helps program is now in its 4th year. “We have many excellent stu- dent participants and volunteers but, as our numbers are growing, so are our needs. We are always seeking more tutors for both the elementary and high school programs. Also, we offer homework help and exam preparation so all students from all levels at Alexander Galt should drop in and see how Phelps Aide Phelps Helps can help them meet their academic goals,” commented Katie Lowry, the coordinator of the program.
This free program is provided for Stanstead area students attending either Alexander Galt High School or the Eastern Townships Learning Centre. It runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, and healthy snacks are provided. Regular school buses bring the students to the program’s location on Phelps Street.
