Stanstead Journal - - FRONT PAGE - Victoria Vanier, Stanstead

The Haskell Library’s Reading Room was full, once again, for the annual Art Auction for the Frontier Animal Society which was held last Sunday. Over $2,300 was raised through the selling of donated original pieces of art, handicrafts and many other interesting items, all auctioned off by Phil Desormeaux. The money will help pay some of the heating costs this winter at the dog and cat

animal shelter, located in Stanstead. If you’d like more information about the Frontier Animal Society or you would like to donate much needed items such as old towels, old blankets, cat or dog food, visit their website or call 819 876-7785. The Society has several dogs and cats available for adoption.

Auctioneer Phil Desormeaux, always well-dressed for the animal shelter’s annual auction, uses his humor to make sure everything gets sold.
