Town­ship­pers’ As­so­ci­a­tion, a non-profit com­mu­nity or­ga­ni­za­tion serv­ing the English-speak­ing com­mu­nity of the his­tor­i­cal East­ern Town­ships, in­vites the pub­lic to the an­nual Open House at the Mar­guerite Knapp build­ing, in Sher­brooke’s Bor­ough of Len­noxville, on Thurs­day, Novem­ber 19, 2015 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Get to know your lo­cal com­mu­nity or­ga­ni­za­tions! Learn about Town­ship­pers’ com­mu­nity pro­grams, ac­tiv­i­ties and more. Join­ing us for this event will be the Town­ship­pers Foun­da­tion, the Town­ships Sun, Men­tal Health Estrie and the Que­bec An­glo­phone Her­itage Net­work. Thanks to the gen­eros­ity of sev­eral lo­cal busi­nesses, door prizes will also be awarded. Enjoy light re­fresh­ments. Meet staff, direc­tors and vol­un­teers. Tour the build­ing and get a lit­tle early shop­ping in at Town­ships Ex­pres­sions, Town­ship­pers’ As­so­ci­a­tion’s bou­tique of books, mu­sic, cards and cal­en­dars by lo­cal artists or with a Town­ships theme. “This year has been a busy one for the As­so­ci­a­tion. The open house is a great op­por­tu­nity to get to know Town­ship­pers’ home base, dis­cover our ac­tiv­i­ties and see what’s in store for the fu­ture,” said Rachel Hunt­ing, Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor of Town­ship­pers’ As­so­ci­a­tion. “We’d like to ex­tend a spe­cial in­vi­ta­tion to any­one who is new to the area to come dis­cover our or­ga­ni­za­tion, as well as our col­leagues in the build­ing, and get to know their neigh­bours.“The event will fea­ture live mu­sic by the new­est ad­di­tion to Town­ships Ex­pres­sions, Keenan Wil­cox. Born and raised in small­town Bri­tish Colom­bia ”love and a de­sire to ex­plore some­thing new“brought Wil­cox to the Town­ships last fall where the full-time singer-song­writer has been pre­form­ing lo­cally and in Mon­treal. “Soul­ful folk, orig­i­nals, al­ter­na­tive, blues, and coun­try are some of the styles you can ex­pect to hear from me at the Open House on Thurs­day, Novem­ber 19th,” said Wil­cox, adding that he’ll also have some albums avail­able by do­na­tion. “It will be my plea­sure to share some beau­ti­ful sounds and mem­o­ries with you; I hope to see you there!” Ev­ery­one is wel­come to visit open house at the Mar­guerite Knapp build­ing, 257 rue Queen, Sher­brooke (Len­noxville), from 5 to 7 on Thurs­day, Novem­ber 19, 2015.
