Stanstead Journal - - NEWS BRIEFS - Victoria Vanier

The Memphremagog MRC is proud to announce the first call for projects under its Politique de soutien aux projets structurants pour améliorer les milieux de vie, made possible through the Fonds de développement des territoires, the successor to the Politique nationale de la ruralité and its Pacte rural.

The Politique de soutien aux projets structurants pour améliorer les milieux de vie has $335,000 available for these projects, destined as much for municipalities as for non-profit organizations and cooperatives, with the exception of financial cooperatives. Those interested have until January 15th, 2016, to submit a project.

The aim of the projects should be to improve the quality of life of citizens through projects that favour environmental, economic and social development in the region.

“With the Politique de soutien aux projets structurants pour améliorer les milieux de vie, the MRC hopes to assure a continuity and reaffirm its willingness to support municipalities in their development,” commented Jacques Demers, prefect of the MRC Memphrémagog and mayor of Sainte-Catherinede-Hatley. “These funds will allow us to continue the work started with the Pacte Rural. We want to support structured and sustainable projects.”

Selection criteria and program orientations can be found in the document Fonds de développement des territoires 2015-2016 : Politique de soutien aux projets structurants pour améliorer les milieux de vie available on the MRC’s website.
