Collège Servite teacher suspended for inappropriate behaviour

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS BRIEFS - Victoria Vanier

Last Friday, administrators of the Collège Servite announced to its personnel, students and their parents that one of their teachers had been arrested following inappropriate relations with a minor student from a different school. At the College, there has been no sign or behaviour to indicate that a similar incident could have happened there.

Although the incident occurred outside of the school community and the Sherbrooke police has stated that no student of the Collège Servite was involved, the administration of the College takes the situation very seriously. The teacher was suspended immediately.

The general director of the Collège Servite, François Leblanc, considers it a priority the work of protecting and reassuring the students. To this end, several resources have been put in place to respond to the students’ needs, such as two social workers, in collaboration with CAVAC (centre d’aide aux victimes d’actes criminels).
