Christ­mas trees and Cal­en­dars to sup­port Haiti school

The­hu­man­i­tar­ian or­ga­ni­za­tion which was be­gun by Town­ship­per Yan­nick Daoudi, the In­spirAc­tion Foun­da­tion, is proud to an­nounce that its lit­tle school in Haiti be­gan its 4th school year, last Oc­to­ber, with 70 stu­dents and eight full­time employees. In the last year, $20,000 was raised with 100% of the funds go­ing to­wards fin­ish­ing the school’s wash­rooms, the com­ple­tion of the school wall, the con­struc­tion of four foun­da­tions for four new classes, the build­ing of one of those classes, con­nect­ing the school to the power grid, fur­nish the new class­room and re­pair ex­ist­ing space, and in­stall a wa­ter dis­tri­bu­tion sys­tem in the com­mu­nity.

Nine Sher­brooke res­i­dents vol­un­teered in the last year, pay­ing their own ex­penses, seven go­ing to Haiti and two go­ing to Ghana to work on the project there.
