An18 year-old from Magog was in the Sherbrooke Court House, on Monday, to face charges of three breaking and entering into commerces in downtown Magog. He was arrested by officers with the Regie de police Memphremagog (RPM) for the first time late Friday night after two attempts, thanks to a witness and a surveillance camera. After being released, he was arrested the following night for a third attempt to break into a business.
A 21 year old man from Ayer’s Cliff was stopped while driving his vehicle a little before 1:00 am Saturday morning on Merry north, in Magog. His probationary license was suspended for ninety days for having more than the legal limit of alcohol in his blood and he will face criminal charges.
On Saturday, around 6:40 pm, a man who was in the Hall Street sector of Magog managed to put out a balcony fire that he saw behind the dwelling at 255 Hall. The fire had been started voluntarily with some kind of flammable liquid. The Regie de police Memphremagog arrested a 55 year old woman in connection with the fire and for possession of cannabis. Because of her psychological state, she was taken to the Magog hospital. The motive behind the fire might have been revenge following a conflict. An investigation was opened.
A 38 year-old man was arrested for breaking bail conditions by going to the home of woman that he was not allowed to have contact with and by breaking his curfew. The 47 year-old woman was also arrested for making contact. The two suspects had been arrested previously, on November 8th, for possession of almost 1000 methamphetamine pills.
