Gaiters Cooled Down By Rouge Et Or Af­ter Hot Start

TheBishop’s Gaiters gained a quick 27-17 lead over the Laval Rouge et Or af­ter the first quar­ter but Laval crawled their way back and spoiled the Gaiters last home con­test be­fore the hol­i­day break by a fi­nal of 83-76 in RSEQ Univer­sity Men’s Bas­ket­ball ac­tion on Satur­day night in Len­noxville.

The Gaiters (0-3) came out of the locker room ready to play against the vis­it­ing Rouge et Or (1-1). They opened the scor­ing and shut down Laval’s of­fense through the first and the ma­jor­ity of the sec­ond quar­ter. Bishop’s led by as much as 20 points in the sec­ond frame but Laval found their scor­ing touch to head into half­time only down 50-41. Bishop’s strug­gled to find their foot­ing in the third quar­ter as Laval outscored them 17-5. The Gaiters fought back in the fourth but the dam­age was done, as Bishop’s fell 83-76 to the Rouge et Or.
