Christmas Carols In Georgeville
The 36th Festival of Nine Lessons with Carols will be held in St. George's Anglican Church, Georgeville, on Sunday December 13th at 4 p.m. Georgeville’s choirs, the Occasional Choir (adults) and the St. George's Choristers (aged 6 to 11), will be directed by Sarah Hoblyn and Gail Kilkelly with Maryse Simard accompanying.
The nine lessons, taken from the Bible, tell the Christmas story and will be read by people representing various aspects of life in the village. Some of the carols will be sung by the choirs alone and others with the congregation. Hear Georgeville’s unique rendering of The First Noel during which the children will present their pageant on the Nativity story.
The Festival of Nine Lessons with Carols was first held in 1880 in Truro Cathedral in Cornwall, England, and since then is held annually in numerous churches throughout the world.
Here is a real start to your Christmas – a great family event – for all generations! There will be a freewill offering to cover expenses. Information: Sarah Hoblyn 819 843 0886, email email@example.com
