Maddiss And Arbour Named Piper Athletes Of The Month
Maddiss and Phil Arbour from Alexander Galt have been named the Piper athletes of the month for November.
a veteran post player for the Bantam girls basketball team, Maddiss has helped lead her team to a 3-1 record in the RSEQ league. The grade 8 student averaged a double double in points and rebounds. The Stanstead resident also commands great poise and leadership on and off the court. The 13-year old continues to work hard during her Basketball Concentration Program and she hopes to lead the Bantam girls to back-to-back RSEQ championships.
Arbour has helped lead the Senior Boys Hockey team atop of the ETIAC standings by posting 11 points in 8 games in the month. Along with his offensive contributions the grade 10 student also plays a big role on the penalty kill, power play and is counted on for big face offs. The Sherbrooke native has been perfecting his skills in the Hockey Concentration Program at Galt since the beginning of the year and is reaping the rewards. As the assistant captain, the 15 year old provides great leadership on and off the ice and a role model. The skilled center is set to return next year, but not before he tries to help his team win back-to-back ETIAC hockey championships.
