Stanstead Journal - - NEWS -

Last Saturday, a 46 year-old Magog man was arrested for drinking and driving on Des Pins street, in Magog. His license was suspended for ninety days and his vehicle was seized for thirty days. On January 18th, around half past midnight on Sherbrooke Street, in Magog, officers with the Regie de police Memphremagog (RPM) intercepted a vehicle for a spot check. The driver was suspected to have taken drugs and was taken to the station to be evaluated. The driver had to supply a urine sample to be analyzed and his license was suspended for 24 hours.

Around 8:00 am on the 18th, the RPM received a call about a car that had gone off the road on Principale East, near the limits with Ste-Catherine de Hatley. The 38 year-old male from Sherbrooke was alone in the car when he lost control of his vehicle as he entered Magog. The vehicle ended up on its roof. The driver was able to get out of the car alone but was suffering from neck and leg pain. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
