T he Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook has received a Thea Award, an international recognition, for the creation of its Foresta Lumina project in the category “Interactive Attraction of the Year – limited budget”. An elite award, last year the winner of the same category was Wilderness Explorers of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Presented by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) at its annual gala, the award will be given out in April in Anaheim, California. The Thea Awards Committee annually recommends a selection of recipients after an exhaustive selection and evaluation process.

“We are thrilled! To be nominated was already flattering, but this international recognition will give us wings and much visibility,” commented Caroline Sage, the park’s general manager. Foresta Lumina has attracted more than 225,000 visitors since its opening in 2014 and has had an economic impact on the entire region.
