Goodrich Library re-opens after smoke damage
The Goodrich Memorial Library partially re-opened on Monday, January 18th, after being closed for several weeks. On December 30th, the historic building’s furnace broke, causing dirty smoke to fill the whole building. A sooty film was left on all surfaces, including on the books.
The library will have regular operating hours for the second floor only and people can take out books again. Computers will be up and running. The third floor is still not in use so no access to the Vermont room, Assembly room or small reading room.
