Border Pee Wee B team earns Champions title
From the moment the puck was dropped to the final buzzer, local Border Pee Wee B team played like the champions they would be crowned as Sunday afternoon in the finals when they won over the local Coaticook team 4-1.
Going in this tournament as the “underdogs”, they rose to the challenge. With lots of hard work and determination, they finally skated off the rink as the 2016 Champions.
Winning the first two games gave them a spot in the semifinals Sunday morning. Again, they played an awesome game. The team then enjoyed a nice meal together before the big faceoff in the afternoon. These kids truly deserve the Champions title. It was a difficult beginning of season, but the derogation down to the “B” division made a huge difference for the team, as they are now competing at the level they belong in. The team is doing great, and kids have a smile on their face and enjoy their season. After all, that’s what it’s all about! The players are now ready to defend their title in the next tournament in East Angus this February.
Great job, team!
