North Country Hospital Lab Receives Reaccreditation
The Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) has awarded reaccreditation to the North Country Hospital Laboratory based on the results of a recent on-site inspection.
A team of seven surveyors made an unannounced visit to the North Country Hospital Laboratory in October, reviewing more than 2,000 elements, to view lab quality and clinical effectiveness. Lab Manager, Oren Martin, happily read the CAP award letter received January 27th. “We are now re-accredited for two years,” Oren announced, praising all who made this possible. “The laboratory staff works 24/7 to obtain the highest level of quality and efficiency for our patients and clients.”
Upon learning of the laboratory reaccreditation, North Country Hospital President and CEO Claudio Fort said, “The North Country Hospital lab is a fundamental requirement for our clinicians to be able to accurately diagnose and treat patients. Accreditation by the College of American Pathologists is the gold standard seal of approval to assure our physicians and patients that our laboratory meets or exceeds rigorous quality standards.”
As the leading organization with more than 18,000 board-certified pathologists, the College of American Pathologists serves patients, pathologists, and the public by fostering and advocating excellence in the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine worldwide.
