Stanstead College Prep Boys Hockey Spartans were finalists at the AAESQ Graham Neil Provincial Hockey Tournament, played at the Pat Burns Arena last Thursday and Friday.

The Spartans opened the tournament with a tough 6-5 overtime loss to local rivals the Alexander Galt Pipers. However, Stanstead won their second game of the day 6-1 against Lower Canada College, while Galt went on to lose to LCC 4-3 in their second game. With each team in the threeteam division having lost one, the overtime loss for Stanstead was enough for them to end the round-robin in first place.

In Friday’s semi-final, Stanstead College defeated Heritage 6-2 to make it to the finals, where they lost against Kuper Academy 8-3.
