Third Annual Caregivers Forum to Connect Townships Caregivers
Townshippers’ Association’s third annual Caregivers Forum will help equip English-speaking caregivers with useful tools and give them access to resources when it takes place on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the Memphrémagog Community Learning Center (CLC), located in the Princess Elizabeth School, 120 Bellevue, Magog.
While caregiving can be rewarding and positive, the responsibilities of caring for a family member, friend or neighbour can seem overwhelming. Caregiving involves time, commitment and sacri- fice, which can make the role seem intimidating. However, it is important for caregivers to know they are not alone – there is support available to them. This free event is designed to help Englishspeaking caregivers learn to care for themselves while caring for a loved one, to provide access to expert information and to help connect them with other caregivers. Five presenters will examine a variety of relevant topics and answer questions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with local community organizations. The 2016 Caregivers Forum is presented by Townshippers’ Association, in partnership with the Memphrémagog CLC, the Community Health and Social Services Network (CHSSN), Cass Funeral Home and the Department of Canadian Heritage. Registration is not required and all are welcome. Free tote bags will be given to the first 100 guests, courtesy of the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages.
