Danielle and Christiane Dion - Art Exhibit and Sale
Uplands Cultural and Heritage Centre once again hosts sisters Danielle and Christiane Dion for a spring exhibition. Their works will be on display at the Uplands gallery from April 3rd to May 29th, 2016.
The public is invited to come and meet the artists at the vernissage which will take place Sunday, April 3rd, between 2 and 4 pm, at 9 Speid Street in the Lennoxville borough of Sherbrooke. The Dion sisters return, in force! Danielle Dion, embroiderer, creates colourful tableaus that elicit an ambience, an emotion. With accomplished finesse, utilizing her threads, silk appliqués and small treasures, she designs wondrous landscapes, at times impressionistic, at times photographic.
Ceramist Christiane Dion offers us an all-new collection of unique individuals brought to life from her vivid imagination. Her firing techniques are equally varied: raku, smoker, electricor wood-fired, they are all here.
In addition, she also presents useful and attractive pieces for the table (bowls, salad servers, serving plates,) uniting the pleasure of the eye with that of the home. Exploring a new palette of colours, her works range from the very classical to the more fantastical.
Opening hours Uplands is open from Wednesday through Sunday, 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.
