Anima/Animaux from Louisette Gauthier-Mitchell : last chance!

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS - Sherbrooke, Lennoxville

The Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke will be open during the Easter Break. It is the perfect occasion to see LGM’s exhibition Anima/ Animaux, which ends Monday, March 28. Townshipper by adoption, Louisette Gauthier-Mitchell invites us to a remarkable encounter between species in presenting a collection of sixty works produced over a period extending from 1989 to 2015. Centred around a concept and theme proposed by curator Françoise Le Gris entitled Anima/Animaux, the exhibition demonstrates a variety of techniques, styles and formats. These diverse and rich pictorial offerings exhibit a vibrant and luminous energy, as somewhat magical characters (anima) appear side by side with animal figures, real or imagined, in unusual configurations.

Easter Break opening hours: Friday, March 25th to Monday, March 28th,

12 :00 p.m. to 5 :00 p.m.
