The Sher­brooke po­lice ser­vice would like to warn the pub­lic that there have been sev­eral cases of break­ing and en­ter­ing in sev­eral ar­eas of the city re­cently. The events can oc­cur any time of day or night but more fre­quently oc­cur at the end of the af­ter­noon or in the even­ing. The pub­lic is be­ing asked to lock their doors and win­dows, pay­ing par­tic­u­lar at­ten­tion to slid­ing doors and win­dows, and to keep the ac­cess points around their homes well lit.

The po­lice need the pub­lic’s help to fight this kind of crime. The “Sur­veil­lance de quartier” pro­gram is a way to help the po­lice fight break­ing and en­ter­ing. This pro­gram can be found in every bor­ough of Sher­brooke. In 2014, there were 524 re­ports of break­ing and en­ter­ing in homes re­ceived by the Sher­brooke po­lice ser­vice.
