Young geniuses show their stuff

The Con­seil du loisir sci­en­tifique de l’Estrie held the re­gional fi­nals of the Défi ap­prenti ge­nie on March 18th at the Univer­sité de Sher­brooke. One hun­dred and eleven el­e­men­tary school stu­dents took part in this year’s fi­nal un­der the theme S.O.S. Pi­rates! The teams of par­tic­i­pants had forty­five min­utes to make a boat as light as pos­si­ble that could hold the big­gest mass as pos­si­ble.

All the stu­dents reg­is­tered in a re­gional fi­nal of the Défi ap­prenti ge­nie have the chance of win­ning one of two get­aways to the Camp des Débrouil­lards, in Arun­del near Mont Trem­blant. The win­ners will be an­nounced in May. To learn more about the prize win­ners go to re­
