First Degree members of Odd fellows Congratulated with all good wishes at Kinnears Mills Hall
On November 11th , some members from District #5 travelled to Kinnears Mills to assist with the members who were ready to receive the First Degree of Odd Fellowship being the Degree of Friendship, the First Degree in this branch. There are two more degrees in this branch. Officers were assigned various posts and new members were examined as to what they had learned.
Then we were ready to proceed with the Ceremony. It was indeed a pleasure to be a part of this.
After the Ceremony the new members were congratulated and welcomed by all.
"The Greetings' from the heads of the Order were extended and Ernestine and Arnold both said they were pleased to be a part of this and sure the new members would enjoy the fellowship within the order and for sure they will play an active part. We wish the whole Jurisdiction would be fortunate enough to attract new members. Our work is needed more than ever as our ideals are to «visit the sick; relieve the distressed; Funeral Ceremony for lost members-help with education of youth; and comfort the bereaved". Our members are all Sisters and Brothers fraternally, many of us much closer than family! We all enjoyed a lovely lunch after the meeting.
