Stanstead Waterpark a go!

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS - Victoria Vanier Stanstead

Thanks to the generous and quick response of many Stanstead residents and businesses, plans are now being made to begin the construction of a modern waterpark in Stanstead. The waterparks, which feature fountains and water jets, have become more popular with towns in the last decade because they are safer than pools for young children and a lifeguard, often difficult to find, is not required.

Although the money collected is still just a tad short of the amount needed, enough has been collected to ensure that the construction can begin this summer. Donations have been most gratefully accepted from: Derusha

Group ($2000); Alfred and Denise Mueller ($6000); Stanstead Firefighters Association ($2000); Gran Quartz ($4000); town of Ogden ($2000); and many residents who have written cheques.

“With any added money we will be able to buy more jets for the park, which will equal more fun for the kids!” said Marise Trepanier, a member of the Stanstead Recreation Association which has been working on this project for almost seven years.

The park will be built in Beebe Memorial Park.
