Heritage church vandalized again

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS - Victoria Vanier

Stanstead’s Sacré Coeur Church, a heritage building, has been vandalized once again, this time in broad daylight. Last week, fifteen plain and colored original window panes were smashed. “When I went into the church after the brunch last week I saw glass all over the floor and it was very cold. That’s how I discovered the windows broken,” said Therese Gaulin, a volunteer with the church.

“We just want people to be aware that children go to the church and often cause trouble. We’d like people to help keep an eye on the church,” commented Mrs. Gaulin. The police are investigating.

Fifteen paned windows on the Sacré Coeur Church, in Stanstead, were smashed by vandals last week. The heritage value of the building is high, as is demonstrated by the dates and names on the plaque on the right.
