Building of new ‘Timmy’s’ begins
The construction of the new Tim Hortons restaurant on the site of the old Imperial Hotel, in Stanstead, is getting underway. The building will house only the restaurant, expected to be full service and about 2,500 square feet in size. “We’re very happy about it. It’s a job creation project and it will give our citizens a nice place to go and have coffee,” commented Stanstead mayor Philippe Dutil on Tuesday.
“They have already done all the soil tests and they have all the permits that they need. I think this restaurant is something our citizens have been waiting a long time for,” added the mayor. The restaurant is expected to be open before the start of this summer’s construction holiday.
The equipment to build Stanstead’s new Tim Hortons Restaurant, expected to open this July, arrived at the site earlier this week.
