Bigelow and Beyond: Country Gardens Then and Now
As the gardening season gets underway, Studio Georgeville is paying special tribute to the Bigelow Pioneer Garden in Georgeville in an exhibition titled Bigelow and Beyond: Country Gardens Then and Now. The vernissage will take place at Studio Georgeville, 20 carré Copp, Georgeville, on Saturday, May 7th, from 3 to 5 p.m. Jacques Valiquette will present a short history of the Bigelow Pioneer Garden at 3 p.m.
The exhibition will run until June 12th and will showcase ceramic art, handcrafted garden tools, jewellery, paintings, photos, sculptures, and stained glass. The participating artists include Louise Abbott, Duff Armour, Jennifer Batty, Michel Bornais, Mary Cartmel, Jacynthe Comeau, Virginia Cope, Lucy Doheny, Niels Jensen, David MacDonald, Dale Mills, Natanya Nerenberg, Linda Peacock, and Carla Straessle.
The Bigelow Gardeners— the community volunteers who maintain the Bigelow Pioneer Garden—will hold a plant sale at Studio Georgeville on Sunday, May 22nd, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. They will also hold a floral and horticultural design competition on Sunday, June 5th. The deadline for registration is June 1st.
