North Hatley News – WiFi coming to town

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS BRIEF - Victoria Vanier, North Hatley

The municipality of North Hatley had a quiet monthly meeting on Monday night. A few residents attended with questions about the installation of WiFi in the town, others with questions about the development project on the flood zone. “We’ll be installing WiFi to cover the town’s entire territory. We’ll start that in a few weeks. Many citizens use the internet regularly and we also get a lot of tourists in town. Tourist destinations are all installing WiFi, so we had to catch up on that,” explained the town’s General Manager, Daniel Décary. Three small modules will be installed around the town to provide the service. Regarding the development project, various project plans are still being worked on but have not been finalized. Citizens are happy to see the road crews out cleaning the North Hatley streets. Less snow and more ice over the winter led to the use of more salt and sand and a larger than usual build-up of sand at the sides of the streets.
