They could be school groups or ladies’ groups; it was a trend,” ex­plained Chloe Southam, the museum’s Cu­ra­tor and Direc­tor. Other post­cards are of land­scapes or street scenes, even post­cards made from some of J. J. Parker’s pho­to­graphs of Stanstead’s great fire. “There are writ­ten texts on some of the post­cards. It was a quick way to give news and to ask for news,” added Ms. Southam. This ex­hibit, which in­ter­est­ingly enough seems like an early ver­sion of Face­book, won’t last long, only un­til June 11th.
