Sunnyside’s fund-raising book sale this week
Sunnyside Elementary’s annual Scholastic book sale is happening this week, from May 9th to May 13th, and this year’s theme is ‘Monstrous’. The Scholastic Monster Themed Book Fair will have books available for children of pre-school age right up to young adult, and everyone is welcome to take a look at the books available, whether they have children at the school or not. If you would like to visit the book fair, it will be open to the public on May 11th from 2:30 to 6:30 pm, or you can call 819 876-2469 to make an appointment.
This year’s sales goal is $1,600, which would give the school 50 % of the book profits to be used to buy books for the classrooms. The books range in price from $2.50 to about $40 for special books.
Back to being open six days a week, the Colby-Curtis Museum is holding the vernissage, this Friday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, for the temporary exhibit “Wish you were here; Postcards from the towns and villages of Stanstead County”. The exhibit features over two hundred postcards from towns such as Derby Line, Rock Island, Stanstead, Ayer’s Cliff,
