L’Appui Estrie announces project funding for caregivers
Close to $820,000 was recently awarded to organizations in the Estrie region that provide services to the natural caregivers of seniors by L’Appui Estrie. Twelve projects were chosen from nine separate organizations to develop information, training, psycho-social and respite services for natural caregivers.
The local projects receiving funding are: Reseau d’amis de Sherbrooke, two projects, $155,333 and $83,685; Societe Alzheimer de l’Estrie, three projects, $39,854, $96,000, $153,237; Coaticook MRC CAB, $83,952; Parkinson Estrie, $30,408; ACTE, $40,142; Coop solidarite et services domiciles Memphremagog, $28,350; and Service d’aide domestique Haut-St-Francois, $30,600.
An amount of $85,000 is still available until March 31st, 2017, to develop services for natural caregivers or for mini-projects that would take place during the National Week for Caregivers, from November 6th to the 12th. Interested organizations have until September 2nd , 2016, to submit their project ideas. Details can be found on the L’Appui Estrie website.
