L’Ap­pui Estrie an­nounces project fund­ing for care­givers

Close to $820,000 was re­cently awarded to or­ga­ni­za­tions in the Estrie re­gion that pro­vide ser­vices to the nat­u­ral care­givers of se­niors by L’Ap­pui Estrie. Twelve projects were cho­sen from nine sep­a­rate or­ga­ni­za­tions to de­velop in­for­ma­tion, train­ing, psy­cho-so­cial and respite ser­vices for nat­u­ral care­givers.

The lo­cal projects re­ceiv­ing fund­ing are: Re­seau d’amis de Sher­brooke, two projects, $155,333 and $83,685; So­ci­ete Alzheimer de l’Estrie, three projects, $39,854, $96,000, $153,237; Coat­i­cook MRC CAB, $83,952; Parkin­son Estrie, $30,408; ACTE, $40,142; Coop sol­i­darite et ser­vices domiciles Mem­phrem­a­gog, $28,350; and Ser­vice d’aide do­mes­tique Haut-St-Fran­cois, $30,600.

An amount of $85,000 is still avail­able un­til March 31st, 2017, to de­velop ser­vices for nat­u­ral care­givers or for mini-projects that would take place dur­ing the Na­tional Week for Care­givers, from Novem­ber 6th to the 12th. In­ter­ested or­ga­ni­za­tions have un­til Septem­ber 2nd , 2016, to sub­mit their project ideas. De­tails can be found on the L’Ap­pui Estrie web­site.
