Po­lice News – SQ of­fi­cer dies in ac­ci­dent

week, a mem­ber of the Mem­phrem­a­gog MRC`s Sureté du Quebec post died trag­i­cally while on hol­i­day. Of­fi­cer Benoit Cay­ou­ette, a 24 year-old na­tive of the Beauce, died in a water ac­ci­dent while va­ca­tion­ing in Nicaragua.

6:00 am on Mon­day, SQ of­fi­cers caught a man driv­ing at 105 km per hour in a 50 zone on chemin des Dili­gences, in East­man. He re­ceived a fine of $1,069 and ten in­ap­ti­tude points. Be­sides the ticket for speed­ing, the driver also got a $169 ticket for not stop­ping prop­erly at the in­ter­sec­tion with chemin du Lac d`Ar­gent. The driver was a 29 yearold man from East­man. The po­lice had re­ceived sev­eral com­plaints about dan­ger­ous driv­ing in the area where the man was stopped.
