The ro­mance of Spring

The Es­tria Quin­tet’s sea­son will be con­clud­ing with two con­certs to be pre­sented on Satur­day May 21st at 3 pm at the UP­LANDS Cul­tural and Her­itage Cen­tre in Len­noxville (9 Speid) and Sun­day May 22nd at 3 pm at St. El­iz­a­beth’s Church in North Hat­ley (3115 Capel­ton). On this oc­ca­sion, it will be the turn of the UP­LANDS TRIO to steal the show with a pro­gram en­ti­tled, « The Ro­mance of Spring ». Clar­inetist Pauline Far­ru­gia, cel­list Erich Kory and pi­anist Daniella Bern­stein will per­form a con­cert of ro­man­tic and pas­toral mu­sic in­clud­ing : selec­tions from Max Bruch’s 8 Pieces for trio; Sa­muel Bar­ber’s Sonata for cello and pi­ano; Wi­told Lu­toslawski’s Dance Pre­ludes for clar­inet and pi­ano; and Robert Muczyn­ski’s Fan­tasy Trio. The lush and ro­man­tic works of Bruch and Bar­ber will open the pro­gram af­ter which the light, pas­toral works of Lu­toslawski and Muczyn­ski will de­light and in­spire.
