The romance of Spring
The Estria Quintet’s season will be concluding with two concerts to be presented on Saturday May 21st at 3 pm at the UPLANDS Cultural and Heritage Centre in Lennoxville (9 Speid) and Sunday May 22nd at 3 pm at St. Elizabeth’s Church in North Hatley (3115 Capelton). On this occasion, it will be the turn of the UPLANDS TRIO to steal the show with a program entitled, « The Romance of Spring ». Clarinetist Pauline Farrugia, cellist Erich Kory and pianist Daniella Bernstein will perform a concert of romantic and pastoral music including : selections from Max Bruch’s 8 Pieces for trio; Samuel Barber’s Sonata for cello and piano; Witold Lutoslawski’s Dance Preludes for clarinet and piano; and Robert Muczynski’s Fantasy Trio. The lush and romantic works of Bruch and Barber will open the program after which the light, pastoral works of Lutoslawski and Muczynski will delight and inspire.
