Sherbrooke mayor elected president of UMQ
At the 95th sitting of the Union des municipalités du Quebec (UMQ), held in Quebec City on May 12th and 13th, members of the Board of Directors elected Sherbrooke mayor Bernard Sévigny to the position of President. Mr. Sévigny is the 55th president of the UMQ and the fourth Sherbrooke mayor to hold that post.
The following were elected to the Executive Committee: Drummondville mayor Alexandre Cusson, 1st vice-president; Levis mayor Gilles Lehouillier, 2nd vice-president; RiviereRouge mayor Deborah Belanger, Treasurer; SainteJulie mayor Suzanne Roy, president ex-officio.
Sherbrooke mayor Bernard Sevigny was elected the president of the Union des municipalités de Quebec at the organization’s annual meeting last week.
