Strong end of sea­son for Stanstead Col­lege

Stanstead Col­lege has come away with some big wins to end the ETIAC spring ath­letic sea­son. On Fri­day, the Se­nior Boys Rugby Spar­tans de­feated Sémi­naire de Sher­brooke in the one-game play­off fi­nal, cap­ping a sea­son that also saw the Spar­tans win the reg­u­lar sea­son ban­ner.

The se­nior girls, mean­while, de­feated MasseyVanier in a semi-fi­nal last week to ad­vance to a fi­nal against rugby pow­er­house BCS, who had de­feated the Spar­tans ear­lier in the sea­son and had claimed the reg­u­lar sea­son ban­ner.

In the fi­nal Mon­day, Stanstead was be­hind 7-21 early in the sec­ond half but clawed back to win 26-21 for the play­off tro­phy.

On Satur­day, the Stanstead Col­lege tennis team won the league ban­ner at BU and BCS.

And fi­nally, on Mon­day, the Stanstead golf team went four-for-four in tour­na­ment play this sea­son to cap­ture the ETIAC ban­ner. Spar­tan golfer Anna Thin­phang-nga had the low gross of the day with a 78.

The Stanstead Col­lege tennis team won the ETIAC league ban­ner, last Satur­day, at Bishop’s Uni­ver­sity and Bishop’s Col­lege School.

The se­nior girls rugby team from Stanstead Col­lege won the ETIAC play­offs.
