Austin W. I. Special Meeting

Stanstead Journal - - FORUM - Ayer's Cliff

This meeting was originally planned for Wednesday May 11 at the Austin town hall. It turned out that Le Havre des Cantons (the home of this writer) had also planned a day of entertainment for the English speaking residents on the same day. As a result, we were all invited to meet here instead of Austin, so the format of this report will be somewhat altered. At noon the nine of us in attendance were escorted to the large dining room and treated to a tasty luncheon with three menu choices and a Salad bar. At 1:00 p.m. a brief meeting was held at Apt. 245. MOTTO: the grass may look greener on the other side but it still needs mowing. Membership was completed for 2016, bringing our total to 10 members as listed below : Debi Bonn (McDougall); Lise Desbois (Gill); Claudette Giesinger (Laflèche); Marjorie Glassford (Cunningham); Elizabeth Goodwin (Napier); Beatrice Juby (Royea); Winnie Kirby (Cotterell); Tina Linde (Omega); Lisette Maillé; Elizabeth Telford (Cochrane). Plans were discussed for a W. I. Sale to take place on Saturday, June 25th at the Austin Spring Festival. There will be Homemade Baking and Preserves and over 100 Dolls. More details at the June meeting which will take place at the home of Bea Juby on Wednesday June 8th. At 2: p.m. this meeting was closed and all were taken to the living room on the 4th floor to relax and enjoy a Program of Story Telling by Patti Warnock, complete with delicious Tea and Cookies. Everything was much enjoyed by all. Many Thanks were given for all of the kind attention we received from this Residence with a special thanks to Host Mr. Raymond Plante.
