Beaulne Museum Presents
The Beaulne Museum of Coaticook is pleased to present the exhibition “En un instant” by the artist Gonza Meza Vargas from the 5th of June to the 3rd of July 2016. . The grand opening will be held on Sunday the 5th of June at 2pm. The public and the press are cordially invited.
Gonza Meza Vargas is interested in exploring different styles and techniques of painting and drawing as well as seeking to deepen the contact with makebelieve which interferes daily. Trivial and common situations are animated by amazing details which we will find once we pay attention to them.
Within this exhibit, illustrations of situations are gathered which occur at exactly the same time in different places of the universe. It is in fact 2 or maybe even 3 seconds in separate locations of a street corner or a thousand kilometers. And how many new images could we describe within those 3 seconds and the next and so on?... Always exploring the world of drawing, whether it would be with ink or graphite, this exhibit is a compilation of creations from his first two solos exhibits as well as some new drawings presented to the public for the first time.
Gonza Meza, draws and plays music. He was born in Santiago, Chili in 1978. In 2009, he left his country for Montreal with his wife Fanny. After participating in a few collective exhibits, he has his first solo titled « En un instant » in 2012 and his second « Les vapeurs, le jaune, les versions et autres contes » in 2013. Following these two experiences, he put together a project called “tournée visuelle” by merging catalogues and creating a new narrative specific to each presentation. Thus, his work is presented here and there in Quebec: in the Beauce, in Abitibi and Témiscamingue, in Montérégie, in Lanaudière, in Quebec and in the Laurentides. Informations : 819-849-6560.
