The Jeux du Que­bec dream has be­gun

The count­down has started for the over two hun­dred ath­letes and coaches be­fore the start of the first con­tin­gent of ath­letes head­ing to Mon­treal for the 51st Fi­nale des jeux du Que­bec in two weeks. The Estrie team hopes to main­tain its 8th place show­ing of two years ago in Longueuil.

The se­lec­tion of the ath­letes was done dur­ing the Mois des Jeux, be­tween June 3rd and July 3rd. More than 22 re­gional fi­nals and four se­lec­tion camps at­tracted close to 1000 ath­letes. The Estrie re­gion will be rep­re­sented in 17 dif­fer­ent sport cat­e­gories in the pro­vin­cial fi­nal.

The del­e­ga­tion in­cludes 218 ath­letes (85 girls and 133 boys), 54 coaches and 15 mis­sion­ar­ies. The first block of ath­letes will head out on July 17th and the sec­ond block heads out on July 21st.
