Water testing at beaches begins
Throughout the summer, the Quebec environment ministry (Developpement durable, de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques) will regularly announce on its website the results of the water testing at beaches in Quebec. The site is updated daily at 11:00 am.
The following are the results of water samples taken in the last few days: Camping lac Massawippi, Ayer’s Cliff, “A”; Camp Massawippi, Ayer’s Cliff, “A”; Camp Livingstone, Stanstead, “A”; Camping coop Prevert Birchton, “A”.
“A” means excellent; “B” is good; “C” is passable; and “D” is polluted. Besides the ministry’s website, people can also find out about the water quality of beaches in their area by calling 1 800 561-1616.
