Sherbrooke Marché steps back in time

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS -

Agourmet and historical event all in one, the L’histoire fait son marché event invites everyone to experience the friendly atmosphere of a Sherbrooke public market from 1900. On August 20th and the 21st, the Societe d’histoire de Sherbrooke, in collaboration with the Corporation du marché de la Gare and Destination Sherbrooke, invite the Sherbrooke population to jump back to 1900 to do their shopping in a public market from yesteryear.

Fourteen merchants will have products with prices from 1900, or at least at a reduced price. Besides good prices, there will be animators in costumes, storytelling, old photographs, dynamic workshops by the Caravane Croquarium team and a contest: guess the value of a filled basket valued today at $75, according to 1900 prices. There will be fun and lots to discover for the whole family!

The old-fashioned public market, L’histoire fait son marché, takes place at the Marché de la Gare de Sherbrooke, August 20th and 21st, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
