Stanstead East opens doors this Sun­day

On Sun­day, Au­gust 21st, Stanstead East is hold­ing an­other “Portes Ou­vertes”, a com­mu­nity get-to­gether to which vis­i­tors from all over are also wel­come. This year, the event will be based at Ge­orge Weller’s air­port, at 4945 Stage Road, where the com­mu­nity din­ner of corn and hot-dogs will take place as well as plane-re­lated ac­tiv­i­ties for chil­dren. “Mr. Weller’s air­port will be our main site. There will be spe­cial ac­tiv­ity for chil­dren there to build and paint small planes,” said Gil­bert Fer­land, the mayor of Stanstead East. Mr. Weller will be on hand to an­swer ques­tions about the small air­craft on site and maybe even about how he builds his own air­planes!

The other sites that will be host­ing spe­cial ac­tiv­i­ties through­out the day are Meubles Ac­ces­soires Gran­ite, also on the Stage Road, The Pax­ton Fam­ily’s Dream­side Sta­bles on the Hart­ley Road, the Ferme Rog­gua on Fair­fax Road, a beau­ti­ful dairy farm that will fea­ture a mini-farm and Coat­i­cook ice cream, the Heath Or­chard where fresh veg­eta­bles, ap­ples and pot­tery await, and Hol­land Gar­dens on route 141. The event takes place be­tween 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, rain or shine. The main site for the Stanstead East “Portes Ou­vertes” event will be Ge­orge Weller’s air­port, CTQ2, on the Stage Road, where vis­i­tors can ad­mire the small air­craft parked there and chil­dren can build and paint air­plane mod­els.
