24th Annual Antique Machinery show this weekend
The Eastern Townships Antique Machinery Club will present its 24th annual exposition this Saturday and Sunday, August 20th and the 21st, at La Fromagerie de la Station, route 208, in Compton. Not less than forty collectors will be exhibiting the objects of their passion. Antique tractors, forest and farm machinery, tools and other items used in everyday life years ago will show visitors the evolution of some aspects of daily life in the country as well as the city.
There will also be an auction of objects and artefacts from another era at 4:00 pm on Saturday followed by a community dinner, mechoui style, at 6:00 pm. On Sunday, the Antique Machines will get together with the Club de voitures anciennes de Compton and the Louis Saint Laurent Museum to celebrate the 1950’s and the 1960’s with special activities commemorating special events.
Again this year, the Eastern Townships Antique Machinery Club is holding the exposition with the support of La Fromagerie de la Station, whose cheeses, which are sold on site, are known far beyond the borders of Quebec.
