Bridge is Big south of Border
Bridge games are alive and well in this area and growing all the time. Several duplicate and party bridge games are on- going in this area with increased attendance. There's a sanctioned duplicate game in Barton directed by Arthur and Linda Aiken on Mondays at the Chamber Apartments. It is limited to 10 tables registered in advance. On Saturdays Sheila Long directs a game at the Lyndonville Library. Eric McCann directs a duplicate game at the Gateway in Newport Wednesdays with some 10 to 12 tables. This one used to be held at Holebrook Bay but outgrew the facility. Wednesday mornings he has a "learner’s game" where you can drop in at the Goodrich Library in Newport. Community Circle holds bridge at the Gateway the third Thursday of the month with Elaine Schurman in charge. Faith Olsen is already organizing the Gourmet Bridge Club which has been going on 27 years to resume September 24 at the Eastside Restaurant and is held about twice a month during the fall and winter.
If you want to get involved call Pat Hunt or any of the people involved.
