Austin W.I. Sum­mer meet­ing

The Austin W. I. meet­ing took place on Wednes­day Au­gust 10th at the home of Tina Linde with co-host Lisette Maillé. Debi Bonn opened the meet­ing at 1:30 p.m. af­ter thank­ing the co-hosts for their hos­pi­tal­ity. Moto: Be your­self – who else is bet­ter qual­i­fied. Roll call: Name your trade when you had to work for a liv­ing & an­swered by 8 mem­bers with an in­ter­est­ing va­ri­ety of oc­cu­pa­tions. Due to the ab­sence of Sec­re­tary Liz Good­win, Bea Juby was kind enough to re­place her for to­day. The July meet­ing had been can­celled so the min­utes from the June meet­ing were read and ap­proved. Trea­sury Betty Telford re­ported on the fundraiser that was held in June, show­ing a fa­vor­able bal­ance to help con­tinue our work for 2016. The mem­bers who was to bring the Monthly prize was un­ex­pect­edly ab­sent so there will be a dou­ble draw­ing in Septem­ber to be supplied by Lisette and Betty. Many Thanks were given to Debi Bonn for chair­ing the meet­ing and Bea Juby for do­ing sec­re­tar­ial du­ties. Fol­low­ing the meet­ing, all were treated to a de­li­cious tea of Sweet Bread with fresh fruit and whipped cream. It was all ap­pre­ci­ated and en­joyed. The next meet­ing will be held Septem­ber 14th at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Debi Bonn on chemin Viens. Rool Call: Bring a funny story. Betty Cochrane Telford

Passed away peace­fully at the CSSS Mem­phré­m­a­gog on Au­gust 18, 2016 in her 74th year. Beloved wife of the late Capt. Peter Foulkes. Daugh­ter of the late Harry and Edith (McAv­inue) DeLuca. Lov­ing mother of Bryan Car­ruthers (Joanne) and David Car­ruthers (Sally). Cher­ished grand­mother (Anna) of Der­rick, Lyanne and Tyler. She leaves to mourn her brother Greg DeLuca (Judy) and sis­ter-in-law San­dra (the late Ron­ald Morin), along with sev­eral nieces and neph­ews. A sin­cere and heart­felt thank you to Dr. Anne Sur­prenant, Susie Adam, RN, the de­voted staff of the CSSS Mem­phré­m­a­gog (Pal­lia­tive Care Unit), Amy, Bon­nie and Francine. A pri­vate fam­ily grave­side memo­rial will be held at Mar­ling­ton Ceme­tery, Og­den, QC. Do­na­tions in Mar­i­anna’s mem­ory may be sent to; Mas­saw­ippi Re­tire­ment Com­mu­ni­ties
