Stanstead Journal - - NEWS BRIEFS -

Pope Memorial Frontier Animal Shelter was the beneficiary of a unique fundraising effort by Greater Barton Arts - Art for Animals! Animals for Art! The result was $440 raised for the Shelter through the sale of small canvases, which were then painted with an animal and returned for show, reception and silent auction resale. Artists ranged in age from elementary students to 76 years old. Prizes were awarded to Isabella Coe in the student category and Robert Compton in the adult category.

Greater Barton Arts hopes to make this an annual event to aid the Animal Shelter and encourage arts activities.
