Centraide Estrie launches 41st campaign
The annual Centraide campaign was launched, last Wednesday, by this year’s campaign’s co-presidents: Eric Loubier, Director of the Canadian Centre for Mapping and Earth Observation, and Eric Ashby, the general director of Domtar Windsor. This year’s objective is $1,600,000.
“Centraide Estrie does admirable work in our community so that each person can have a place in society and grow with respect and dignity. I am proud to be a part of this big family for 2016,” said Mr. Ashby. “To be involved for years at the heart of the Centraide campaign, I can see that we have a campaign cabinet of volunteers that gets involved to improve our community to make a healthier environment by giving of their time and of themselves,” said Mr. Loubier.
The campaign cabinet consists of fourteen volunteers who will be visiting businesses and institutions in the region to get their support and collect donations. Residents will receive an invitation to give by the mail. Each donation helps to finance 68 organizations that help impoverished and vulnerable people in the region and eleven aid programs in the community, helping roughly 62,000 people!
Anyone who would like to make a donation can call Centraide Estrie at 819 569-9281, ext. 223, or make a donation online at www. centraideestrie.com.
The Centraide Estrie ‘Campaign cabinet’ is ready to get to work to raise $1,600,000 for their fellow Townshippers.
