Our Specialists

Log drive to the sawmill. This lovely old photo depicts a profession, that of the log driver, that is long gone from our area. However the photo is from a local collection so someone may remember the scene or the location and could share that information with us. We have a few names to share. For the photos of the large sturgeon found on the shore of Lake Massawippi; The fellow with the round glasses was Cecil Tyler and the fellow with him is Grant Ansell. In the Women''s Institute float photo, taken from their calendar, we are told the ladies from left to right are; Mrs. Shaw, Elden Little dressed as a man, _?_, Ruth Rintoul, Janet Mclellan, Bess Mcvittie, Mrs. Lowell, Mrs. Mappin and Mrs. Wilson. And somewhere behind the stove was driver, Robert Little. Sadly the lady giving us the names wished to remain anonymous. In the second sturgeon photo is Arthur Slack and Fred Fisher. Thanks to Robin Tyler and Wynn Dustin for the names.
