We are all Changemakers, when we Run! A 7th edition for the CIBC Run for the Cure in Sherbrooke!
The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation is pleased to invite you to participate in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure taking place in Sherbrooke, at Jacques-Cartier Park, on Sunday, October 2, starting at 8 a.m. Once again this year there will be plenty of courses available to please everyone! During this day of celebration, you will have the opportunity to give it your best shot for the cause by walking or running on the 1, 5 and 10 km courses and the 2 km circuit for children!
This year, thanks to a personalized online experience, participants will be at the very heart of the CIBC Run for the Cure promotional campaign! You will find a multitude of faces, each with their own story to tell, filled with hope and determination, that have come together to create a future without breast cancer.
In 2015, the CIBC Run for the Cure brought together more than 9,000 participants across the province and raised $2,153,040. Donations collected during the CIBC Run for the Cure allow the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation to fund innovative research projects, educational and awareness-raising campaigns, as well as support programs for affected women and survivors, and for their families, across the province.
During the past year, the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation is proud to have given more than $850,000 to 6 organizations across the province, in order to help them realize innovative projects that will make a real difference in the lives of women affected by breast cancer and survivors, as well as their loved ones and health professionals.
During this great annual event that launches breast cancer awareness month in October, many entertainers and public figures will be joining our ambassador and breast cancer survivor, Patricia Plante who says, "I decided to become an ambassador for the CIBC Run for the Cure in Sherbrooke, because this cause affects me directly. I am living proof that cancer can strike at any age. I therefore believe in the importance of raising awareness."
To register for the CIBC Run for the Cure, simply go to cibcrunforthecure.com. Participants will be asked to either make a $40 donation and receive a tax receipt, or raise a minimum of $150 by soliciting donations from family and friends.
